The programs use similar tactics to get inside random systems. Usually they use system vulnerabilities, Trojan viruses to infect random computer users and try to gain money from computer users by making them pay registration fee of some useless program.

The most popular fake system defragmenters at the moment are Smart HDD, Data Recovery and Smart Recovery. They all belong to the same family of fake defragmenters and use the same tricks to gain their goals. Basically, fake system defragmenters pretend to be able to optimize your computer system and fix any hard drive related issues. Before that these program obviously try to make you believe that your system needs some help.

The programs use various pop up messages and security warnings which do not correspond to reality. Basically, the messages report about noneexisting problems and offers downloading Smart HDD, Data Recovery or Smart Recovery in order to solve these issues.

Truly you will lose your money once revealing your credit card details and the situation of your system will remain the same. Beware that Smart HDD, Data Recovery and “Smart Repair” Data Recovery are malicious programs that must be removed once noticed. The best protection against these infections is installing a high quality antispyware program and keep it up to date. Scan your system to eliminate these annoying application once you get infected.

Rogue antispyware programs have been infecting tons of computer systems with years. Some of them last for a very short time some do not stop for months or even years looking for more systems to infect. Lately some of rogue antispyware programs have been replaced by fake defragmenters. Though it may not sound that bad, fake defragmenters sometimes can be even worse and cause more problems while removing them.

Fake system defragmenters pretend to be system optimization programs that fix hard drive and computer memory problems. In fact the purpose of these fake defragmenters is the same as the one of rogue programs – to steal money by selling something completely useless. They also use similar methods like rogue applications: imitate performing scans, uses fake warnings, etc.

One of the main fake system defragmenters that keeps infects more and more computer systems for pretty long time now is Smart HDD. The program is released by the same gang of cyber criminals who have been releasing some fake defragmenters daily. The program uses system vulnerabilities to get inside the system . Once inside it creates several files in the system and makes the launch when computer is booted. Then you will be experiencing fake scanners being run on your system, pop up messages appearing for no reason and so on. Everything will lead to one and the same ting – they will be convincing you to get Smart HDD program in order to fix your hard drive problems.

You shouldn’t trust this program under any circumstances. Smart HHD must be removed straight after its detection on the system.

WinWebSec family of fake antispyware program that started its activity a few years from time to time appears on the Internet very actively. It is responsible for a bunch of dangerous rogue programs, such as Security Shield, Smart Protection 2012 and others. The infections can get inside random systems using exploit pages. You can get redirections to the these pages through advertisements even even on trustful websites.

One of the most popular infections from WinWebSec family at the moment is Smart Fortress 2012. Once inside the system the program makes sure to attack your system with tons of security notifications and pop up messages. These alerts warn that your system contains infections and recommends getting a full version of Smart Fortress 2012 in order to remove all malicious files.

What is more, Smart Fortress 2012 imitates running a system scan and displays a list of infections which in fact do not exist at all. The program tries to do all it takes to convince you into purchasing Smart Fortress 2012.

You have probably already understood that Smart Fortress 2012 must be removed as soon as possible. However, it makes this task difficult and problematic. The application blocks your legitimate programs including your security tools. It also tends to disconnect your computer from the Internet to make your computer practically useless.

The only solution for you is to download a reputable antispyware program and run a full system scan. Have a look at the removal guide here. Before that don’t forget to upgrade your antispyware to its newest version.

A browser hijacker is a malware program that changes the webpages your computer‘s browser opens to other than you wanted to visit. This might be done by malware process itself or changing browser settings. Usually it affects webpages you visit most often, e.g. home page and/or search pages, redirecting from them to their customers‘pages and subsequently generating a bigger trafic to the latter. For example, Happili redirect virus instead of your search browser‘s results opens its webpage and makes it almost impossible to complete any search. A more serious damage is when a browser hijacker adds bookmarks for pornographic websites to your own bookmark collection and generates pornographic pop-ups. Such redirects may lead to the pages with more viruses and infect your computer with malwares like Trojan or Rootkit.
Your computer may be infected with a browser hijacker either with or without your permission. It may be installed as part of freeware installation. Most likely this unwanted program is mentioned in the user agreement but not identified as a browser hijacker. Of course, most of the computer users do not read such agreements therefore they install the hijacker without realising about it. Without a user permission it might be installed via an infected e-mail, a file share or a drive by download. Happili redirect is a good example of a virus that infects a user‘s computer without his/her permission.
To protect your computer from this malware you should follow the general rules of safe computer usage: read user agreements carefully and be cautious about downloads and e-mails from unknown addresses. Additionally, you should install and use an antivirus program that offers real time protection.
But what if your computer is already infected and webpage browsing is annoing because of pop-ups, slower internet connection than usual, redirecting to the addresses that you are not interested at all? That depends on type of hijacker. Some hijackers can be removed manually easily. However, for some it is nearly imposible. Each browser hijacker has different manual removal instructions and a mistake might damage computer. In any case, you should identify the exact cause of hijacked browser by searching for more information or scanning with anti-malware programs.

We use more and more mobile internet and wireless hotspots. It is convenient, however, poses some security risks. If we can spend more time security internet on our own home, it is much more difficult to make sure your connection will not be eavesdropped. There are some simple tips on how to browse more securely:

1. Always use secured connection for logging in. You should never use HTTP connection for reading mail, as it is unencrypted. Even better, use other ways to authenticate on websites when possible.

2. Use own device for banking – on-the-go only. It is impossible to guarantee that the device has no spyware if you do not own it. Anti-Malware scans will not help against hardware based spyware like various dongles.

3. Keep important documents encrypted. In many cases, I recommend using TrueCrypt volumes. Any device might be stolen, including your laptop. Even if it never happens, it is better be prepared for such case. If you plan to travel for longer, keep the documents you really need on your traveling device only. This would reduce data leakage risk even further.

4. Fully turn down device each time you won’t use it for a longer time. You should not use hibernation or sleep function for laptops while traveling, as it might allow hackers to access the data even if you use screen locks.

5. Keep a backup of all documents. It is not so important which backup software and how you backup, but it is important to have copies of the documents in case your laptop or phone would be lost.

6. Keep up to date internet security programs (Antivirus, antimalware and firewall). To some extent, this is required for mobile devices too. More and more malware target other devices than windows ones and your will be exposed to them while traveling.

Any other tips? Feel free to add them in the comments.

Wireless communication became a typical way of communication which allows transferring information over a distance without using cables. A wireless router is not a surprise anymore but a necessity for many people. Because of such popularity, many people started suffering from connection related issues. Most of us are not computer experts so facing router problems can be very annoying. Here are some tips for you if you experienced some wireless communication problem.

It is really common for wireless network not to function in certain home areas. Sometimes all you need to do is to move your router to a better location and all Wi-Fi networking issues are solved.

Another issue is old equipment. We all understand that new technologies are constantly being improved. Even though a router is considered to be a device that lasts for many years you have to understand that newer electronic gadgets are often more reliable and better than the old ones.

Upgrading router firmware is also essential for its proper operation. This will ensure security enhancement and provide better router performance. In case Wi-Fi signal is not strong enough because of the long distance or obstructions between a router and a client, you may need to upgrade your Wi-Fi antenna or install additional device called repeater.

However, not all issues are easy to resolve. If the problem includes errors in configurations, wireless router channel management or some other deeper problems, it’s better to consult some professional in order to avoid further configuration problems, etc. Remotefixpc.com is a team of professionals that is ready to solve your computer related issues.

Microsoft Office is one of the most often used applications. Despite this fact, we still cannot bypass this application to crash. The crash of Microsoft Excel, Microsoft Word or other Office program can bring lots of damage to you as using these programs often include important documents and so on.

Sometimes when the problem is not deep, you can try to fix it yourself. Microsoft is taking care of its customers and now there exists a special Microsoft Diagnostics tool which is included in Microsoft Office 2007 system. This tool is designed to detect problems and help you to solve them. It is based on a battery of tests which can run Setup Diagnostic scan, Disc Diagnostic scan, Memory Diagnostic scan, Update Diagnostic scan, Compatibility Diagnostic scan and check for known solutions. The tests are run one by one and the entire process takes up to 15 minutes. It may be completed faster if Office Diagnostics doesn’t detect any errors. If there are some errors, you will be connected to Microsoft’s vast information resource of problems and solutions where required corrective actions will be performed.

Unfortunately, MS Diagnostic tool is not always able to repair Microsoft Office. If the problem goes deeper you may want to consult some professionals. That’s why we are here for you, ready to fix any computer problem. If you think you got one, don’t hesitate and contact our staff immediately. You can chat online with our PC Repair Expert or simply enter your phone number and we will call you as soon as possible to find out and solve your issue remotely. Sounds too good to be true? You think such service will cost you enormous amount of money? Don’t worry about it! Besides you must pay only after we solve your issue. That means you will not lose a cent if we are not able to solve your case.

Contact us now and leave your problems behind. We’ll take care of them.

Many of you may think that the quality of your Internet connection is a business of you Internet Service Provider. However, it’s not always like that. If the websites don’t load for you there are several tricks you can do by yourself before asking the professionals to help. It is very likely that the problem doesn’t come from the Internet provider but you.

First of all, you should check your Internet cable. Usually if it’s unplugged, you will see a notification on your computer screen. If the cable is plugged in but you still see the notification, it might be the problem of a cable. You can also try to ‘repair” your connection by right-clicking on your network connection and choosing “Repair”. If that doesn’t work simply reboot your system. Sometimes this simple step resolves everything.

If you don’t see any notification but the websites doesn’t load anyway, it might be a problem of your Internet settings. Make sure the configuration is exactly like your Internet provider requires. Go to Start > Run, type in cmd and press Enter. When you see a command prompt, type in “ipconfig/all“, press enter and check if the settings are correct. Default gateway is you IP router address and DNS servers are either your router’s IP address or DNS by your Internet service provider.

Have you tried everything and still have problems? Then stop struggling and contact our technicians. That’s probably the easiest way to solve any computer issues either it is Internet connection or some other case. We are ready to remote into your computer any time and repair it for a really great price. We do not take money for the time spent fixing the problem. Besides, if we are not able to resolve your issue you don’t have to pay anything! Do not hesitate. Contact us now and you will soon get your system functioning properly again.

Email or electronic mail is one of the most popular ways to exchange information nowadays. The system of email is based on a model where email server computer systems store the messages of the senders and forward them to the proper recipients. One of the biggest advantages of email comparing to phone calls or other media of communication is that both sender and receiver don’t have to work on the same schedule. The email can be checked any time, independently from sender. It is also much cheaper way to exchange the information. Talking about its disadvantages, email is called a push technology. The sender completely controls who receives the information and this often causes receiving unwanted information. Despite that, email remains the most reliable medium to exchange information all over the world.

Though email might look a simple system, it occasionally encounters technical problems. These problems include email connection problems, email address errors, email spam, email viruses, delayed email, email formatting problems, etc.

If you are able to send the email but it doesn’t arrive, your email can be queued. In this case check File or Edit menu for any queues. You might need to send all queued mail manually. If you don’t receive external emails but are able to send them, try to send one to yourself. If you can receive it, it means your server can’t access the Internet. You should wait for couple of hours but if the problem doesn’t go away, you should contact your Internet provider for assistance.

One of the most annoying things using email is getting spam emails. Spam is usually an email with commercial content or frauds, including computer viruses. There are several ways to block spam messages or at least to reduce the amount of them. You should be very selective about sharing your email to everyone. If your email will be revealed by the third parties they undoubtedly going to send you spam. Never reply to any spam emails even if they give you an option to remove yourself from their mailing list. Delete spam emails without previewing them. You should also always run an antivirus program and make sure it scans for viruses all your email attachments.

If you are still experiencing problems with your email, we can help you to solve them. Contact our technicians and get your computer repaired remotely. We promise the best service for the best price. Remember that all our services require payment only after the issue is resolved. If we are not able to do that you don’t have to pay anything.
